The Original America Next Top Model Tyra Banks, posted a “Raw”, “No Filter” selfie on Instagram and caused quite a stir!

 I have struggled with self acceptance,confidence, and my self image my entire life. While I’m in a great place and have it under wraps( thank you baby Jesus), it was a time where I couldn’t walk to the mailbox without a full face of makeup on!

  I really understand the empowering feeling of being happy with yourself!  It’s easy to get caught in the contouring, highlighting , beat and flawless face and lose yourself! This is your LIFE, you only get one… so FUCK who doesn’t like you… it’s over 7 billion people in the world.. I’m sure someone will love you for you… and if they don’t ..talk to me  cause I LOVE YOU!

I LOVE Beyonce...

How to do False LASHES!!

Everyone (including your mother) is wearing false eyelashes right about now, but honestly do you know how to apply them yourself?

So after my friend (Deja) asked me a million and one times about how to apply lashes, I decided to do a quick 1,2,3 step to follow:

ONE:

Fix Your Mirror

Most women I have notice, make the biggest mistake by looking straight into the mirror: Instead adjust the mirror (or yourself) so your looking down, and are able to see your natural lash line. This will help you know exactly were you are placing the lashes... AGAIN your placing false lashes on your LASH LINE, not on your EYELID!!

While holding the lashes up to your eye before you apply the glue, measure to see

if the lashes are too wide or to small. If they are too big, this is a perfect time to cut them down. If the lashes are too big, cut a small piece off ( or cut the lash in half) and you can them as corner lashes.

Don't have a steady hand? Try using tweezers to place them on.

Try using Ardell Duo Eyelash Adhesive ($6, Sallybeauty.com) I personally like the black adhesive, but they also carry white.

Apply a small amount to the base of the lashes, let it dry for 20 seconds, then apply.

WAIT! Let me take a step back, try use your mascara before your lashes...

just in case you want to re-use your lashes( or you want a more fuller look) .....OK let's continue :)

TWO:

Line It Up

Add black liner to fill in any gaps, then add another coat of mascara.

This is an option, you DON"T have to do this step!!!

THREE:

TAKE IT OFF!!

At then end of the day, night or whatever...

TAKE YOUR LASHES OFF...

Now while you think you MIGHT sleep like a princess, you don't want to make a wrong roll and wake up with your lashes on your forehead. Let your lashes live to see another day, pull them off and wash your makeup off!

While this women make not be the best example of makeup, but DAMN...she is even taking off her lashes!!! LOL :)

So I hope these quick tips help, keep in mind you might not get it the first time...but keep trying :)

Scarlett Johansson’s D&G Fall 2010 Makeup Ad Campaign

So, I know I may be a little late on this D&G Fall 2010 Makeup Ad Campaign with Scarlett Johnson,..sorry sue me :) but all I can say is HAUTE!!! I love it!!

This fall is all about a dark lip( yes again) but more on the 'plum" side and more satin unlike last fall when it was all about matte lips. If you didn't notice she also has a smokey eye to top off that lip, so ladies if you like the dark lip and eye..this FALL season is all for you!!

Now in my personal option, I don't like either..while MAC color is bright and beautiful,it dries out your lips. Cover girl's color is a little off, and for it to be a stain it stays on your lips .."15 min" MAX! Whew!

In today's world computers and technology are taking so many jobs but now as a makeup artist could it takes yours? WEEELLLLLLL in Japan it could, it's called :

You stand in front a mirror aka computer takes a picture of you and recommends what types of makeup you should use and then prints out a picture ( of you in the makeup) of how it should look! Guess that's beats you going to a cosmetic counter ...

I had the recent chance to work with the beautiful Julissa Bermudez (also know as Julissa B formerly of BET now VJ for MTV Jersey Shore After Hours) for the " Dime Piece" spread.

Julissa has AMAZING skin so I used a mineral foundation on her, and NARS matte bronzer on the cheeks. I wanted to do a smokey eye on her, but I didn't want it to be too heavy so I only smoked underneath the eye.

For a quick way to achieve this look: Use a black eyeliner on top smug it into the lash line (this creates a fuller lash effect) also do this under the eye. Follow behind with a black or dark blue eyeshadow using a brush or a Q-Tip ( remember the dark eyeshadow is ONLY for under the eye!). I used half lashes on the corner of the eyes, for the "BEDROOM EYE" effect 3 coats of Dior and L"Oreal mascara and Revlon's Nude lip gloss.

I also did makeup for the 6 piece fashion spread "Poker Face", that we shot at a Casino. Be sure to check it out on stand March 2010. Look out for the GLITTER red lip!
