MAC VS. CoverGirl Lip Markers

MAC VS. CoverGirl Lip Markers

MAC Cosmetics just released a new product this week called " Lip Markers". While I love the name as well as the creativity, but didn't Covergirl do this already?

The answer is YES!

"Lip Stain" delivers precision application and a light weigh flush of color that last - Covergirl

While MAC's "Lip Marker" retails at $14, (http://www.maccosmtics.com/) "Lipstain" from Covergirl will average you half the price at $8 ( http://www.target.com/, drugstores)

Now in my personal option, I don't like either..while MAC color is bright and beautiful,it dries out your lips. Cover girl's color is a little off, and for it to be a stain it stays on your lips .."15 min" MAX! Whew!

My favorite Givenchy Lip Markers, its a little more expensive but worth the price $29 ( http://www.sephora.com/)

Are you ready for this Jelly: Well Lip Jelly that is...

Pop Beauty, the British brand that started in Topstop has a new tasty creation "Petal Jam".

Along side their perfume that smells like cake batter and a scented champagne body wash, this "JAM" gloss is as tasty as it sounds.

"Petal Jam" promises to tastes like plum sugar and moisturize like Vaseline. In the size a baby food jar, this beauty product retails for $14!

Don't worry you wont just use this "lip jam" on your lips, you can use it as a highlight on the cheeks for the "dewy skin" look for spring.

So in Beyonce words "Can you handle this Jelly?

Julissa Bermudez for The Source Magazine

Julissa Bermudez for The Source Magazine

I had the recent chance to work with the beautiful Julissa Bermudez (also know as Julissa B formerly of BET now VJ for MTV Jersey Shore After Hours) for the " Dime Piece" spread.

Julissa has AMAZING skin so I used a mineral foundation on her, and NARS matte bronzer on the cheeks. I wanted to do a smokey eye on her, but I didn't want it to be too heavy so I only smoked underneath the eye.

For a quick way to achieve this look: Use a black eyeliner on top smug it into the lash line (this creates a fuller lash effect) also do this under the eye. Follow behind with a black or dark blue eyeshadow using a brush or a Q-Tip ( remember the dark eyeshadow is ONLY for under the eye!). I used half lashes on the corner of the eyes, for the "BEDROOM EYE" effect 3 coats of Dior and L"Oreal mascara and Revlon's Nude lip gloss.

I also did makeup for the 6 piece fashion spread "Poker Face", that we shot at a Casino. Be sure to check it out on stand March 2010. Look out for the GLITTER red lip!

On To The Next One : Product Review

PRODUCT REVIEW: L'Oreal Liner Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner: Carbon Black This is my number ONE product choice and I have 5 in my makeup kit. SERIOUSLY LOL! Trying to do that CATEYE or maybe just a basic liquid liner ? Well this is your product! The color come off stong and INTENSE, smooth and easy to manage, while the brush is so thin it glides on straight without any effort. ( $9, Drugstores)
